Re: Double Edged Sword

No, I can't do anything with it until the famous Feb date in 2009 when TV goes all digital (interference). I am currently working with 2 vendors trying to decide which technology I am going to deploy. Technically speaking I have until 2017 to build out, but I am not going to wait until the last minute.

The trick is not to be too quick, though. I don't want to put a product in the market on day one that will limit my capabilities in year four.

I am hoping the big boys R&D pays off in the long run for little guys like me who can't afford to put Motorola or Nokia on my payroll.

Are you having interference from a local station?

We have been utilizing our C block licenses for nearly 2 years now using WaveIP gear. I still see the noise floor jump to -40 - -50 when the duction conditions are just right that brings in distant signals. We have a couple of licenses such as the one that covers Springfield MO that we cant touch because a local broadcaster is still there and they are still primary holders until the cut off date.

As you know the C block is channel 54 and 59 (I am not an engineer BTW). Channel 59 is Indianapolis' Fox station so until they pull their signal I am sitting on my hands.

I have been looking at SOMA for the cities I cover and Airspan for the more rural areas. How do you like your WaveIP product? I don't know much about them.

Right on, since a lot of stations are already transmitting, I'm sure there will be cheaper/better equipment by Feb 2009.

Good luck!
