It never really crossed my mind to use somebody's connection on a regular basis. I do carry a laptop in my work van and sometimes I will connect to look up a place but that's it. I just did a site survey with my laptop and there was a lot of connections and most of them were secured. Some were not. My neighbor across the street has an open network.
