Re: why not let the market decide on a la cart

You're kidding right? What market? Who does a cableco compete with in the vast majority of markets? Cablecos on the whole have no competition and that is why their service is lousy and they can bundle channels and force you to buy the bass fishing channel. They is no way they could get away with that if there was a market - so there is no market to decide anything.

Yes FiOS poses a threat. Can cable doesnt like FiOS. But FiOS has very small market share.

For you maybe, and that's find.

Me and the 5 channels I watch, don't need to be paying $70's a month for 500 channels.

why not offer packages like today and a la carte and let the market decide which they want?

personally, I would stick with bundling as that's where the savings would be.
there is no market.

This "free market" crap only works when there's a "free market" how many cable companies compete in your town? ONE and that's all there is ever going to be. If you had 4 or 5 then fine "free market" rules the day.
