That is how Martin got the job - he was involved in Bushes' campaign is florida. His wife currently works for Cheney. Clinton is not going to name Copps. And in all likelihood, neither will Obama.

I also question whether McPain would name Martin. They have really disliked each other in the past. Martain is a Bush/Cheney loyalist. McPain is the rebel republican challenging the junta on things like broadcast spectrum give away and torture policy.
