| [billing] What happens after the first year?
I'm coming up on having my Verizon DSL service for almost a year. I was wondering what happens when I get to the end of my year contract? Can I stay at the same price for my plan? Can I get any of the special offers? and also could I swich over to Dry or Naked DSL?
Thanks |

| My year was up last November. Supposedly you are to get a letter by USPS, phone call, and/or email prior to your one year contract ending but I got none of these and I'm still only being charged $29.99/month (plus taxes and fees etc).
At this point I'm really afraid to call to renew the contract because of the horror stories you hear about accounts getting screwed up and so forth. I'm just gonna bide my time and see what happens. |

| reply to flatlined I've had the $14.99 plan for 3 years running now and I've had to call in at my one year anniversary each time to get the $14.99 rate with another years commitment. And yes, it was a hassle because not everyone there is willing or knowledgable enough to do the renewal correctly. My second year I had a problem where the rate reverting back to $17.99 after a couple of months because they had used the wrong promo code, but they credited me the full difference when I noticed the incorrect pricing several months later.
Earlier this year I noticed they were offering a $14.99 for life rate, so I called them to try to get on that deal. I was told I had to do it on the web because there were longer commitment terms that had to be agreed upon and they were only available on the website. I was never able to get it to work though. All kinds of server errors on the Verizon site (way to go Verizon). Now I only see a $12.99 for the first six months option available, so I'm woried I will have to start paying $17.99 this September when I try to renew. |

Before that (NOV07) I did inquire about naked DSL & they said they can offer that, but DSL $ would increase w/o pots.....so I left well enough alone. |
