Re: Question about Bellsouth Internet Security Suite

I will probably switch to the bellsouth security when the current one expires, I don't know how good it is or anything but I would rather use it than pay $60 a month to McAfee when it is included in the 6.0 service that I have. The way I look at it is if I was going to pay $60 for McAfee why not get the 6.0 speed and use the $60 a year that I spent on Mcafee and get the higher speed even though I probably do not need anything as fast as 6.0

Re: Question about Bellsouth Internet Security Suite

You can get FREE McAfee anti-virus and firewall protection by downloading it from AOL. It works great, and is far superior to the BellSouth offering.

You do have to sign up for a free AOL account if you don't already have one.

Re: Question about Bellsouth Internet Security Suite

I don't know about McAfee, but truth be told, AT&T does not train the helpdesk how to properly support the internet security (be prepared to call several times or be on the phone for awhile, unless you get lucky) and they are slow to fix flaws (mostly license related things).

All I want is something free that will work. I did not know about the McAfee from AOL. I was actually thinking about AVG after McAfee expired. If I go with McAfee will I need to uninstall the paid version after it expires before I download the free version from AOL? I have been hesitant about the one that Bellsouth is offering but I just went ahead and added it to the order while I was upgrading to 6.0 and that way I would already have it on my account if I wanted to use it.

Re: Question about Bellsouth Internet Security Suite

i would go with AVG over the AT&T one.

you can check over in the Security forum about the best AV programs, but last i looked it was Kaspersky, NOD32, and Norton at the top, with a rather large gap before any of the others came in.
