In terms of non-technical differences, coverage for GSM is much bigger around the world. CDMA is common in North America but places like Europe, there is very little or no CDMA coverage at all which is why everyone is moving to GSM or 4G solutions based on GSM like UMTS/HSPDA and LTE.
--
"If bullshit was money this guy would be richer that Bill Gates." - quote by olebiker on Mirko Bibic

Having been large buyers in the past, perhaps they already have the spectrum they need, having purchased it previously so that they don't need as much from this action. :uhh:

that makes sense, however, with what is going on with BM lately, it says otherwise...a lot of areas are experiencing congested data networks due to a lack of capacity, to the point Bell has even dumped its unlimited data plans, cancelled customer accounts and kicked them out the door...and i am not talking about people doing 50 gigs on their devices, we are talking people doing less than 1 gig on their units, especially out west...it is to the point now, out west, they only offer a $100/250 MB data plan, which is a far cry from the $75 unlimited one they launched just a few months ago (now gone)...also, with everyone (all carriers) pushing content as part of the value added services, more capacity is crucial to a higher speed network...Rogers already has a decent amount of HSPA 3.1Mbps coverage, and 7.1Mbps is going to be started late this year...you need spectrum to maintain and expand, and Bell is barely maintaining it.
--
-"I have tried to see things from your point of view, but no matter how hard I try, or what I do, I just can't get my head that far up my ass." ;)

-"I don't know if she can wrestle, but I'd sure like to see her box." ;)
