[CATV] Choppy HDTV in the Lehigh Valley

Ok, so I first found this forum in late summer/early fall when I first got RCN HDTV. The picture was occasionally choppy and losing audio, so Google pointed me here (800-RING-RCN was, of course, not helpful) and I found it was a known issue and was being work on. Once the "downgrade" of software occurred, things were perfect. Now however over the last few weeks things have started to degrade again to the choppy video and dropped audio. It is also occurring on DVR recordings of shows (like the last 3 weeks of LOST). I'm also once again receiving "temporarily off air" message on random HD channels until I change the channel and flip back. It's starting to drive us nuts!

I've read the recent posts and see no other reports of this, so I'm wondering if it's isolated to me or what the heck is going on.

And I know it's probably not good form to post an issue like this when I may disappear (my wife is due any time now with our first child), but it's getting worse as the days pass and I'm out of ideas of what to do. Tried turning the box off for awhile, and rebooting the box, unplugging things, calling RCN's phone, nothing is helping.

Let me know if there is anything other details I overlooked that might help solve this issue. Thanks in advance!

sounds like a levels issue, I would get a tech to come check it out.

»[CATV] thought we solved this last year but freeze ups back

It's been back for a while.. no one responded to it from RCN.. this post was back in January and updated a couple times by others. BUT it's not happening all the time like it was before the guide twice a day push problem solution fixed it and the new firmware was installed.

I run my output at 720P all the time, and for the most part there are no problems. But on FOX HD every so often it comes back in spades. Once in a while on other channels but mostly FOX HD.
