The fuss is over the fact that Spitzer was charged with enforcing all of the laws of New York State, both as AG and as Governor. He cannot simply pick and choose the laws he wants to obey. Morality aside, the law is the law, as he would so bluntly put it.

What I don't get is if this is what Spitzer like doing on the side, why didn't he just fly out to Nevada where this activity is legal? He also was in a position to legalize this activity in New York State should he have chosen to do so.

I made this point before in another thread that people like Eliot Spitzer is no better than the rogue police officers near where I live who refuse to pay their speeding camera tickets. Such people who believe they are above the law should have no place in enforcing or imposing the law on the rest of us.
