| messed up my first bill
got my first bill today for fios triple play. i was told 99.99 + 4.99 for one box = 104.98 i get bill and they have 104.99 + the box @ 4.99 i also have a 95.00 charge for- install/rewire one jack
needless to say they didn't rewire or install a new jack?
i have installed all new coax cable. so they where in and out in under 2 hours.
i've read how billing is a nightmare. any tips on how to get this worked out? |

| I had a minor billing problem compared to yours after FiOS was installed. I called the regular billing number and they corrected the mistake, issuing a credit on my next bill. They were charging me $.25 for every phone call from Odessa (813 area code) to my son's house in New Port Richey (727 area code). In my case however, it was a recurring error and I ended up calling them several billing cycles in a row. Nickle-dime amounts, but aggrevating.
They never hesitated giving me a credit, but the problem was not getting fixed at its root cause.
Finally, I filed a complaint with the State of Florida PSC. Boy, did I get a fast response to that!
I would try their normal billing number first. But if the problem persists, here is the link to the state PSC website: »www.psc.state.fl.us/utilities/
Near the top of the page, go to Consumer Assistance and under that is a link to the Consumer Complaint Form. |

| reply to qwert9999 i ordered it over the phone. first she said 109.99 for triple play. i told her i wanted the 10/2 and she said that was 99.99 then. so then i told her i wanted the tv. she said that i had to order the 20/5 to get the tv. said she would check and see if she could give me the 20/5 for 99.99 a month + 4.99 for a box. since the offer for 99.99 for 20/5 had just ended. said she could and i asked her again that it was 104.98 with the one box right. she said yes.
either way i'm going to bitch. i'm really pissed they billed me for a phone jack. not sure how that's going to go over.
anyone ever get bill for something like that when it wasn't done? |

| reply to qwert9999 One thing I realized about verizon fios is that they are like used car salesman. They will say anything to get you to sign up. that doesn't mean it will be done, but they will say it. I am still waiting on my first bill. Every time I talk to a person its a different story. Even when I talk to the same exact person a few days/week later, it is still a different story. We shall see.

| reply to qwert9999 Call Verizon and tell them to drop the installation charge and any other weird charges. If you signed up for 2 years I mean whats the point; they got you.
My current bill in Northeast (MA) is
FIOS Triple Play $109.99 DVR Rental $15.99 STB Rental $ 9.99 Taxes and Fees $12.33 - what a joke but thats another story |

| reply to qwert9999 just got off the phone with them. got a one time credit of 4.99 x 24 = 119.76 since he said he couldn't change my package price. so my bill will still be 104.99 + 2 boxes.
i still have to pay the install/rewire one jack charge of 95.00 bucks he put in a claim for them to investigate it. they will let me know in 3 months the out come told him i was planing on refusing to pay it. he said i had too. i also told him i wasn't happy about the 3 month deal since i would be locked into contract in 7 days for two years. i'm going to be really pissed if i get stuck paying for it.
PS: Taxes and Fees= 18.50 |

| reply to qwert9999 Just got my first bill last week. $60 dollars and change. They are only billing me for the phone portion of the triple-play. Seems good to me however you know they are going to catch up sometime and then I will have to pay a huge nut at the end. Called them....HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD and finally I was told not to pay anything until the NEW bill showed up. Great...can't wait to see all the late charges. LOL. Then I just tried to access MYACCOUNT online and they say I need to register. What gives. Great Phone service, Great TV, and Great internet. Horrible everything else. Wait...do have to give the install tech Kudos because he did a wonderful job. |

| I have 3-SD STBs @ $4.99 and no DVR. Your basic bundle rate is $15 higher than mine. I do know that since I signed up in Sept, 2007, there has been at least a $10 increase in the bundle price here in the southeast.
I'm sure their pricing structure depends on local competition, also. Maybe they just figure you rich folks in New England can afford it. |

| reply to qwert9999 Got my first bill for 15/2 triple play and everything was OK except they did not add the ~$19/mo discount on my Freedom phone bundle like they should have - the TV and I'net discounts were there. When I called V* billing and told them I thought there was a problem, the CSR immediately replied that they forgot to include the Freedom bundle discount.
My bill was for 1-1/2 months of service and she SAID she applied 2 months' discount to the bill (~$38) and told me to pay the adjusted amount. She was puzzled that it had been omitted since everything on the account indicated that it should have been there. SHe said everthing should be correct on the next bill (well, we'll see about that).
On another note, my free TV promotion is all screwed up - they said (twice, after 2 calls) that I was not in the system. A friend, 2 blocks away, was installed a week after me and he's already received his letter. They just ain't no fathoming it! -- Never raise your hands to your kids. I'm not sure if they've changed the billing format or if this is what's supposed to happen once you get into full month billing. This is my first full month billing, and they show the one line item for the bundle. Last month everything was itemized, probably because it was partial month service.
On another note, except for the installation charge which they credited me for, my bill is what I expected. When I had a question last month and called, the CSR walked me through it item by item.
I was issued a credit for the installation charge. That means that charge still shows up, but it is offset by the credit. Some people might be confused by that. |

| reply to qwert9999 It sounds like you are set up for direct debit payment with VZ like I am. One thing I found out in all the months I was calling and was issued credits, the credits were always carried over to the next month's bill.
The CSRs would tell me that the credit would be reflected on the current month's bill, but it never was. It seems that being on a direct debit payment, once the bill was issued, that was the amount taken from my checking account regardless of any subsequent credits issued.
I just got used to seeing the credit on my next month's bill. |
