Re: [Email/WebMail] Can somebody explain these emails?

You can always take it into your hands.

I have exactly 2 filters setup in my email client and get absolutely no junk, advertisements, spam, etc in my inbox.

the first, is a 'whitelist'. Anyone thats in my address book goes directly to my inbox or appropriate folder. This prevents legitimate emails from getting junked. The 2nd is a blacklist - 100% of emails that do not match the first filter are sent directly to the junk box.

I do a brief scan of my junk folder everytime I dump it to verify nothing legit is in there. Its much quicker than going through my inbox to get rid of the junk mails.

The 2 filters took less than 2 minutes to create.

This may not be good for everyone - especially if you frequently get emails from people not in your address book.
I agree though, the ISP should have better blocking/filtering.

I would like to try that. I frequently forget passwords and upon requesting them, they are sent to my Charter account. Probably not a good idea using my Charter account as a contact point to me, but I try to be honest/direct rather than elusive with places I give my email address to.

I am not saying I couldn't do what you prescribe, it would be a little more difficult with the way I have been using it already.
