Maestr0 posted : I understand. What I am saying is that speedtests do not mimic real world tests past a certain point. Lets say I run a file server. I am paying for my bandwidth. So I am not going to allow every tom dick and harry to download at 20mbs. Instead, I am going to have a cap that it is dolled out at to save me some $$$. Even pay sites I use like fileplanet do not approach my 20mbs that I see on speedtests.

Ooopss..editied to say I am checking your settings via the link..thanks.

Its not to have some get upset or anything you know :/

Maestr0 posted : I don't mean to flame you or anything but there is no way you notice a difference. I challenge you to find a site that actually allows you do download at 21.57mbit per second (not including speedtest sites).

These companies pay for their bandwidth just like you do and I don't care who you are downloading from you aren't downloading at 21.57. Nor is it at 20.

But, back to the question...which version of Windows are you using?

Question about speeds and registry settings

RolteC posted : I myself had my HDD die, and now my upload reports 21.2Mbit/sec but my download is stuck at 20. Use to be 21.57Mbit/sec.
Yes I see the difference in downloading, and yes I also understand that it isn't a big deal to anyone that I lost 1.5Mbit on the download side, But I would still like to know what registry settings can be changed to allow me to get the right speeds again.
I know I modified a reg file that worked wonders for me, but thats one of the few files I didnt have backed up from my old HDD so now I dont know what I did.
So far, it doesn't matter if I change my rwin from 64240 to 1606000. The download doesnt budge.
Any help would be appreciated!!!
