pbarrow : Sounds like what they told you is correct - you have noise problems in the cable plant - bad connections ot Tap or something - could be at your residence affecting only you or someplace else affecting others also.
You need to make sure they come out and check.
Call back if you have to tell them about the noisy TV channels and losing internet connection.

[HSI] Tech Help Please - Alabaster, AL

durbin : First of all, I have had no complaints with Charter service and this is not a complaint. I would just like to know what is going on. Last week, I noticed snowy analog channels and low upstream power(30dbmV) on my cable modem. I called and setup a tech for Sat between 3-5. Internet went completly down around 3pm Sat. Motorla Modem is sitting on a blinking send light. Tech called, without coming by and said there was a problem with a tap in my area and would have to send a crew with a bucket truck and they would be there Sun morning. They never came Sunday. I called Sun evening and was told the problem would be fixed anywhere from 24hrs and 2 weeks. My neighbor, whose tap comes from the same pole has no problem. Any help would be appreciated.
