@verizon.net | Issues with WAN Interface on Third Party Router
All,
I finally got Verizon to enable my Ethernet Port on the ONT and disable MoCA. I went ahead and added my own Fortigate router however I am unable to ping or tracert to the WAN Interface. Has anyone else had this same issue? |

| i want to clearify that i can access the internet from the lan and any resources that i add as a virtual IP forward to the correct IP. it is just frustrating not being able to access the box remotely or set up VPN connections that hit the IP addres. I have included a traceroute with all the number replaced to protect the innocent.

| Have you verified that ICMP responses (ping, tracert) are enabled in the router?
1) Login to the FortiGate web-based manager. 2) Go to System > Network > Interface. 3) Choose the external interface and select Edit. 4) Make sure the Ping Administrative Access check box is checked. 5) Select OK to save the changes. |
