Upgrading Service tier from standard

Hey folks, I was just curious if you can legitimately upgrade your Net serves fro Residential Pro to SOHO Standard and not have an actual registered business. Essentially paying the $35 more for 100GB more bandwidth. Is this allowed?

Just curious why you would increase to a SOHO for 35dollars more, I am usually 20%-40% over my bandwidth limit every month and have only gotten a few emails regarding the limits. what are the penalties for continuously going over large amounts of bandwidth?

It's been so long now, I don't have the hard numbers but if you search through the Cogeco forum, you'll note that many of us have faced disconnections. Maybe the threshold has been increased to give a little more allowance, but if you go too high you'll get disco'd.

hope that day never comes for me, but if it does, I am not sure if they would be willing to lose all my services, over bandwidth issues, They get 200 dollars a month from me.

They care less about company loyalty and more about the bottom line. That being said, as long as you're within your limits you won't experience service disruption.
