It's not like everyone has a direct fiber or coax link directly to HBO and other pay channels.
The only programming not received over satellite by providers are local stations.
People knew pay channels came over satellite years ago, when people started installing those big dishes at home to receive pay cable channels for free. Until the sat companies got on the ball and encrypted it and charged fees. |
