| iPod touch as a pda
My pda has been broken for awhile. The battery is weak and the sync port is broken. It will cost $100 to repair. Do you think the ipod touch would be a good match for me?
I was using my pda primary as a calendar, contacts list, notes, email reader, and occasionally web browers and instant messaging.
For the calender, contacts, and email, i only used my pda as a reader. I never compose mail from my pda. I do, however, use notes quite a bit to scribble things down. I'm not too worried about having a keyboard instead of a pen. But how are the applications loading times? I'm used to having my pda off and I press the email button and within a quarter of a second i'm at my inbox already. How long does the touch take to turn on and get to the inbox? I also have my normal mail sent to my gmail account. Is the gmail software easy to use?
For web browsing, I'm sure the touch is better in most regards to my pda. And instant message I don't care much about. Probably in time I won't use it anymore so I don't mind that the touch doesn't have it yet or may never have it.
Thanks. |
