This happens to me as well and became more frequent when I moved from Ultra (1.5 Mbps) to Xtreme (3.0 Mbps) service. I'm also using the Westell 6100 modem which was already mentioned as a possible contributor to the drops. Summertime can be really annoying as my area is known for afternoon thunderstorms five out of seven days of the week.
I believe mine is due to marginal line figures and the quickest remedy would be to drop down to Ultra service. If you find your line stats to be marginal, and stability is of the utmost concern to you, you might try a slower service if one is available to you. You might see improvement. |
