Meanwhile Sarkozy is trying to encourage a French work ethic because why now? Oh yeah, it's because the rest of the world kicks their ass in productivity.
Turn off Air America and come back after you actually get the facts instead making them up on the fly.
You liberals are too funny. The Smurfs aren't real. Socialism is an utter failure in real life.

| | | said by Dogfather:No amount of liberal wishful thinking can change the disaster that socialized medicine in Canada and Europe is. May not be perfect, but isn't better that it takes money from the governement instead? So instead of allowing the government to go backrupt or allowing the government to set pricing restrictions so that the cost of healthcare does not destroy nations, we are allowing the healthcare industry bankrupt the country's citizens. Is that really a better solution?
said by Dogfather:Oh yeah, it's because the rest of the world kicks their ass in productivity. At the expense of the work force. I have seen reports showing fewer and fewer vacation days for Americans and more and more stress and the problems associated with. We may have a high production rate, but at what long-term cost?

said by Dogfather:Their schools are better because they aren't crippled by the corruption of the NEA and our greedy teacher unions. Haven't seen a single citation from you! As far as I can see, all of the complaining about liberals with statements like that is just bunk! You were saying... Can you cite the research study that proves that unions cause so many problems?
said by Dogfather:You liberals are too funny. The Smurfs aren't real. Socialism is an utter failure in real life. If you hadn't noticed, capitalism isn't doing so hot either. We are in the middle of a... well, I wouldn't call it a war. Our currency is no longer bleeding but pouring out value for many reasons. There is a huge market crisis in the housing industry which effects millions across the country due to improper or lack of oversight and policy. The price of oil has been affecting this country's middle class and continues to get worse as gasoline heads for $4+/gallon. We have no future infrastructure or national plan (road, electricity, gas, technology, education, internet, etc). Half the country thinks we are heading into a recession, the other half claims we are not and no one knows who is right cause there is some evidence either way. --

Oh brother...liberals are like ostriches. Come on out to California where we spend $60 billion a year and while public schools get worse and worse, flooded with illegals, they want to outlaw homeschooling.
And yeah, being lazy and taking endless vacations can hurt productivity.
Socialism is a total failure EVERYWHERE it's tried.
Our government is so inept and corrupt it would be totally idiotic to give these r-tards a tiny bit more power than they already have.
Your answer to insure the 16% without insurance is to completely screw up the system for the 84% who do.
Again, socialism is awesome...reducing everyone to mediocrity because it's fair.

said by Dogfather:Their schools are better because they aren't crippled by the corruption of the NEA and our greedy teacher unions. Just cause California is bad does not mean that unions are the only or major issue. You ASSUMED that and played it off as if it were true without proof.
I know that the school system problems are not limited to California. You simply pulled one single place out just cause it suited you. I asked for a citation of your assumption, not for the problems of the entire school system.
said by Dogfather:Oh brother...liberals are like ostriches. I have to say your analogies are pointless as well. I suppose that makes conservatives like lemmings: Always jumping off the cliff whenever it suits them.
said by Dogfather:Our government is so inept and corrupt it would be totally idiotic to give these r-tards a tiny bit more power than they already have. And instead of trying to get politicians in office that are not corrupt you would rather sit on your big ass and complain about it. At least you can claim you tried!

And no, I don't have to assume that unions are why the schools are a failure. I know this as fact. Union decimation of the public school system is not exclusive to Kaul-ee-foh-nya.
I voted for Ron Paul as well as donated to his campaign, so yes, I tried and yes I'll continue to bitch like a little schoolgirl about how f*cked up the gov't is and how so many idiots see an empty suit like Obama or a kissass of illegals like McCain as the answer.

"Productivity" is an odd word because it just uses work hours. America has lots of people doing bullshit jobs that no other developed country has in the 21st century (e.g. pumping gas, parking lot attendants, ticket collectors, and worst of all, processing health insurance). And despite all that "productivity" the US has a massive imbalance between how much it buys from the world, and how much it sells to the world (even now that the dollar is in the toilet)
MEDIAN HOURLY WAGE is just about the lowest in the developed world here in the USA. Our overall spend on healthcare is now 18% of GDP, and our spend on litigation is another 15%. In other OECD countries it averages 10 and 4 per cent respectively. Throw in the fact that the US spends 3 times as much per capita on "defense" and the long term picture is very bleak for us.
