@shawcable.net | Two questions: Should my HD terminal make nosie, and $39...
Question 1: Should my new HDPVR box make a little bit of a quiet fan-like noise when it's turned off?
Question 2: I called Shaw today to ask them what the price would be to keep all HD channels and they said $39. Does that seem right? |

| It will make a little noise since the cooling fan and hard drive will stay active when the DCT is powered off.
It should only be $9 for HD channels beyond the basic HD channels that you should have included in your package. HD movie central channels will bring the cost up depending on which package you have. |

| reply to GuestB when you say a little bit of fan like noise,, do you mean wirling sound that speeds up slows down speeds slows down all within two minutes??, plus you can hear it in the next room?? or is a soft whisper spin, that you can only hear when you are less thna one foot away? |

| reply to GuestB The only change in sound it should make is if the hard drive is active due to recording. Otherwise it should be consistent. I haven't noticed the fan on my 3416 changing speeds, I tend to just hear the hard drive. Unless you have hearing like a dog or some other large eared animal hearing the DCT in the next room is abnormal, unless of course your walls are paper thin? |
