I believe they fixed this back in 2007. Are you sure you are using current software?
Anyhow this is is an HP issue, not a teksavvy issue. |

Anyhow this is is an HP issue, not a teksavvy issue. Thank you for your recommendation. I have reinstalled the 'latest' (from HP's site) HP drivers the previous two times this has occurred. (I think it has to do with me leaving my HP 3050 on all the time, and not the drivers themselves)
However, why does my internet speed practically double when this happens. And, how can I make this permanent? |

 | I have to agree with the other person.. coincidence or a bug giving bogus results.
Check your modem stats, Does it show 7-meg? If it does (and someone screwed up), then you should get the best speeds with no 100% CPU utilization.
the 100% CPU utilization is something you don't want and is an HP bug. If you can't fix it and it always re-occurs, then Email HP for a fix.
Don't know else to say about it... But check your modem stats and let us know what the sync rates are. |

Try downloading a file from microsoft.com when the speedtest claims you're getting 6000Kbps+. Based on your normal speedtest speeds, you're probably on a 4Mbps profile, and your download speed should probably be around 437KB/sec. |

Well, from Microsoft the max download is 749kB/s, or the equivalent of 6000 kbps. My normal max is ~350kB/s - 440kB/s
Also, how do I chack my line stats?
Thank you so much! |

I hope you won't have a line problem anytime soon or Bell will downgrade you to the normal profile when they'll try to rectify it. |

Here is a screenshot of my desktop, showing my: Modem stats Download Speed Process CPU utilization
Can you please confirm the modem stats are typical?
I will terminate HPTLBXFX.exe after receiving confirmation & post a screenshot, redownloading the same file (And yes, I will clear the cache first)
(Also, please note the download speed from Microsoft fluctuated between 800 - 650kB/s) |
