You're all a bunch of morons! If you think this is the begining, then think again! This has been going on for a while. This is just Comcasts contribution to the Patriot Act. That's right folks, The Patriot Act. They don't need you permission to watch you. They don't need your permission to listen to you. As long as they are willing to turn over any information the Government asks for, then they can record your ass all dfay and night. AND, it's already going on with some services.
Sec. 2703. Required disclosure of customer communications or records'';
(B) in subsection (c) by redesignating paragraph (2)as paragraph (3); (C) in subsection (c)(1)-- (i) by striking ``(A) Except as provided in subparagraph (B), a provider of electronic communication service or remote computing service may'' and inserting ``A governmental entity may require a provider of electronic communication service or remote computing service to''; (ii) by striking ``covered by subsection (a) or (b) of this section) to any person other than a governmental entity.``(B) A provider of electronic communication serviceor remote computing service shall disclose a record or other information pertaining to a subscriber to or customer of such service (not including the contents of communications covered by subsection (a) or (b) of this section) to a governmental entity'' and inserting ``)'';(iii) by redesignating subparagraph (C) as paragraph (2);(iv) by redesignating clauses (i), (ii), (iii), and (iv) as subparagraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D), respectively;(v) in subparagraph (D) (as redesignated) by striking the period and inserting ``; or''; and(vi) by inserting after subparagraph (D) (as redesignated) the following:``(E) seeks information under paragraph (2).''; and(D) in paragraph (2) (as redesignated) by striking ``subparagraph (B)'' and insert ``paragraph (1)''. (2) Technical and conforming amendment.--The table of sections for chapter 121 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to section 2703 and inserting the following:
``2703. Required disclosure of customer communications or records.''.

Its not about not having anything to hide its about the the fact that I don't always get dressed to watch tv. Whose to say they won't activate the camera when no one is watching TV?. Ever had sex in your living room? Better yet if you have one in your bedroom, would you really want a camera pointed right at your azz while you're freakin? |

| reply to pipdipchip Ah, but they are content providers. Comcast Sports Net, E!, The Golf Channel, G4 and several others are owned by Comcast and they sell local ad insertions on all of their systems. Such technology would be a gold mine for them.

| reply to swhx7 Seriously, who does Comcast think they are?
Firstly, I hope and pray this will be a voluntary. Secondly, is this the best way to keep track of who is watching the TV? How about a simple login system? Login and select who is watching the TV if they are so damn interested in what people are watching.
Why does Comcast even care who is watching and what they are watching? They aren't content providers. They just deliver content. They should care less. The only reason is that content providers would probably pay Comcast a lot for that kind of information.
But seriously, does Comcast have a PR department? Do they care about their customers at all? I left Comcast and would suggest it to all other Comcast customers. They DO NOT care about their customers. -- Webmaster of WRTrouters.com - Computer Science Major |

If it was you better believe I'd be expecting to be paid. I don't work for free. But hasn't been cable in my house for 7 years let alone a cable box so I'll just have to hope my website picks up |
