NPG cable BHC, LHC, Kingman

liqrisquickr : Yesterday March 19th 2007 i was having issues with my NPG cable Internet and phone service, here in bullhead city, being a former employee instead of calling a service call in I called a tech to find out what was up, and was informed, that to compete with frontier they will be upgrading res. speeds to 10/1. no actual time frame for these upgrade, however im sure it will be about a year yet. Right now, all three of these systems, (as with all of npg systems) are independent from each other, meaning each system has its own headend, fiber connections out for internet, etc. At the time i was terminated, they were in the process of building a fiber loop between, Bullhead to kingman, kingman to Havasu, Havasu to Bullhead. Once this construction is complete, kingman is to become the master headend for the 3 cities. This in turn will make NPG able to offer more channels, faster speeds, and better television services to all customers in these areas. My inside person told me that the permits by fed land management has been approved and is awaiting the john hancock. Once complete fiber will start to be laid between the cities. outlook for completion of this project is december 2008 so hopefully january they will start upgrading services. It could be sooner if they hire a few extra contractors. also to the folks with npg phone service, if you have been having dropped calls or plan crappy service, as a tech in BHC we found that a direct line from the first splitter to the phone modem is the best most reliable way for them to keep you phone working correctly. If you have been calling alot of service calls ask your next service tech to dedicate a line to your modem, this may require postwiring ( running a rine on the outside of your home or under your mobile home.) That would fix most of your issues. I did this on all of my installs, and never had repeat service calls for phone issues unless there was line issues in there main trunk or feeder lines. As i stated before i was tech in BHC so i only know what is affecting this system and the other two mentioned before. Flagstaff, sedona, payson, blythe, mammoth lakes, are not included in the fiber loop and i have no info about these systems, however im sure if they are upgrading internet speeds, in BHC, LHC, Kingman the other systems will likely get the same upgrades. In addition, npg company rules are that tech can not wallfish lines, and you would have to hire an electrican to wallfish, and mobile home crawls are completely up to the tech that you get, some tech will crawl most will not unless your mobile is new and very clean underneath. So if a tech says im not aloud to crawl under your home, its not that hes not aloud but that he most likely doesn't want to because he doesn't want to or because under your home is a mess ie cobwebs, garbage, animal waste. Yes techs get paid to do these jobs, however they are paid hourly and its not worth crawling your home and running into critters, ie black widows, scorpions, and the likes.
