Will they raise the monthly cap?

Meanwhile people keep complaining that FiOS competition hasn't brought down prices. There is more to competition than price and Verizon has gotten a number of cable operators off their fat asses, namely CableVision, Comcrap, Cox and Time Warner who are directly responding to FiOS competition by ramping up speeds. Time Warner raised speeds here to 15/2 shortly after FiOS was deployed, and they didn't do it 'cause they're nice guys.

Actually cable has gotten the Telco's off their @$$es. If it wasn't for the deployment of HFC networks in the late 80' and early 90's, you wouldn't see FiOS deployment today.

Exactly how competition is supposed to work- no one can sit on a single technology too long without either upgrading or lowering prices... (and of course cablecos and telcos will never lower prices)

I've had friends with Cox tell me they have passed 0.5TB a month with zero problems.

Wrong. Telcos were soundly beating cable in new ads with their $15-$20 DSL offering despite slower speeds. And xDSL was a natural evolution that would have happened with or without cable.

That's why customer service and overall satisfaction will be the deciding factor.
