Re: Hypocrits I was at the Light Reading conference. A discussion point came up a couple times. Which is more important, the ability to spike at times to 100 Mbps or to be able to deliver 15 to 30 Mbps consistently? I agreed with a couple of the speakers that the latter is more important, partially based on what Internet sites will even be capable of delivering.
Only 3.0 modems will be able to go over 30 Mbps (4 to 8X in the next couple years), but existing 2.0 modems can get to that level given enough shared DOCSIS spectrum allocation. |
