Otherwise, how is it a scam? No one is going to deny that Comcast raises rates on video service.
So wouldn't it be more of a scam, especially since there are no contract penalties with this deal, to NOT get the $42.95 deal? I mean, if the price on your TV is going to raise then the price on the Internet is probably going to raise too. So why not get a fixed price on the Internet?
It's only a scam if they trick you into buying video from them when you don't already have it just to get the low Internet price. |

So you've got your guaranteed forty-three bucks of HSI but in order to keep it you have to pay an additional $25 per month (for the sake of argument) in video service fees over the next five years. You don't think that somewhere in that video price increase is not a hidden HSI price increase? What's the difference? You really think that Comcast does not cross-subsidize in order to keep the only part they have any local competition on--HSI--artificially priced?
And what if you decide to go to satellite like I said? It's a marketing parlor trick. A way to "offer" something of zero value.

If you notice that your video price increased more than normal customers, then you cancel your service.
If it was in a contract with an ETF, then you'd have a point. |
