56K modem for life

Imagine 10 years ago if a company was offering a 56K modem connection "for life" for $17.95. Might have sounded good at the time, but probably not too useful for most of us now. I suspect 12Mbps will be viewed in the same light in 10 years, esp. with the presumably crappy upload speed that is part of this deal.
