I have had comcast for almost 7 years with no issues with bandwidth, blocking of bittorent or any other such issues that some of you people are having. For you to get twilight-zone bandwidth and blocking of bittorent you have to be doing some seriously shaddy $hizzit so for me i am a COMCASTER FOR LIFE otherwise known as CFL hommie. | |

 | | | I've had Azureus running pretty much non-stop since back when ET was still online.
Never had an issue with BT blocking, never had a nasty letter from Comcast.
I've had the modem upgrade once due to age, and one defective unit replaced.
I've had two outages in that time, neither of which exceeded 4 hours.
We have the deal where if you have HSI, *basic* cable is $5 a month. That's the only reason I even have any sort of cable TV.
I don't get why people think they *need* all possible cable channels. Is it the same dynamic that requires people to eat themselves sick at a buffet to avoid feeling 'ripped off?'
I just download the shows I actually want to see via BT and be done with it.
I watch at most 2 hours of TV a night. That still seems like a lot to me.
I'm confused also why people think everything must always get cheaper forever.
There is a certain floor for everything.
HSI prices are not going to be suddenly be cut in half, and I'd very glad of that.
To cut prices in half would require outsourcing more jobs, and I doubt there are enough left to make the nut anyway.
Comcast isn't perfect, but they provide more reliable bandwidth cheaper than anyone else in my area.
DSL is a joke.
The bright lights that pioneered the technology left for greener pastures 20 years ago and haven't looked back.
What's left are some talentless hacks trying to milk the last profits out of a dated technology, rather than trying to actually innovate anything.

| Re: I will take it.... One nice thing about my DSL, albeit slower than what Comcast offers, is stability. I don't see fluctuations when people come home due to being on an oversold node. And my traffic is not throttled. | |
