| Cox Will Offer Some DOCSIS 3.0 In 2008
I know for a fact and it scares me and I hate it that Cleveland, OH will be that LAST one on the list to get this technology. And of course Cleveland's Cox is the last system to recieve anything, I see everyone has soooo many more HD channels then the Cleveland market and it sucks. Then people (meaning Cox) wants to know why people are switching to U-Verse, it's probably because U-verse isn't as slow as Cox it to bringing out HD or high speed www.
Don't get my wrong, I enjoy Cox's reliable WWW, but I just want faster upload. For some people that work from home, a fast upload would be great. I called Cox about this and in order to get the same download speed for their premium speed, but get 2mb up they want $250 a month. Which is a business line account and I don't want that if I can get a 15/1 line for $40 a month. So why can't Cox offer a fast upload, I'd rather drop my download speed just to get upload a fast upload speed.
Okay, I'm done complaing now, it's time for everyone's comment on what I said |

Because upload can ALWAYS be used. unlike the token downstream bumps we get from time to time goes largely unused. Most sites i download from cap out around 400KB/s. thats around 20% of my total downstream bandwidth. -- You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much Bandwidth |

| I know tell me that, I mean sometimes I hit 1.5mb down depending on the website that I am downloading from (microsoft web sites etc.) But if Cox or any ISP would actually listen to their customers and ask what their customer wants instead of the "Corporate" world deciding what we the American people need or don't need.
So if Cox did ask us the users, I would vote for a faster upload. |

@cox.net | reply to sphinxguy18 Cox has said in a previous public briefing that when the roll out DOCSIS 3.0 (the full version, not asymmetric DOCSIS 3.0 down and 1.1/2.0 upstream) that their target speeds will be 25/4. 4Mb/s upstream sounds pretty good to me. |
