How do you remove quicktime software?

Tried it with the windows add remove control and, it's still here.

What do you mean "still here"?
Still playing media files on your machine and still listed in A/R Programs, or just some left-over files laying around that need to be deleted?

I had the same issue as well.

I was going to uninstall it and replace it with Quicktime
Alternative 2.40, because of the recent foisting of Safari
on Windows users through the Apple Software Update popup,
but when I went to remove it in Add/Remove Programs, not
only was it still there, but it put QTTask back in Startup.

After exiting it and then removing it using MSConfig,
I had to manually remove Quicktime and its folder, then use
CCleaner and a few registry cleaners to get rid of the 478
entries in the Registry it left behind.

In short, the uninstaller appears to be broken.

Uh-huh. Right. Yeah, I'll just bet it's "broken".

Pathetic. I always figured Apple for nothing more than a 'Microsoft wanna-be'.
This, along with that 'pushing of Safari' business, only solidifies my opinion.

There's a battle raging right now over who owns a persons private computer-- the person, or the software makers whose software the person deigns to install.
I'm with the former-- and I'll dig a figurative foxhole and arm with a figurative bazooka if need be.

The time for alternative software was never riper, never righter.

its like norton software, once you have it, its really hard to TOTALLY get rid of short of formatting.
