If you get the Motive software prompt, you'll have to install it proceed, but once you get the page were it confirms the member id and security questions you've chosen, you should be able to quit the registration process (and not have to install the AT&T help center thing, etc) and just enter your user name and password into the modem. |

Clemson, SC | I've been thinking about this, there's been recent discussion in security circles about the possibility of hacking people's routers using nothing but a malicious webpage and creative scripting. This motive activeX control is exactly the kind of thing that would make this type of hack trivial. |

| This is the kind of feedback that needs to be passed along to AT&T by their informed consumers, it's not something they'll take seriously from their phone agents. I'm sure they are aware of at least SOME of the risks, but they still chose to go this route. |
