Is your P2P being throttled? Post your info here.

There has been a lot of discussion at »Teksavvy's throttling now? Just a vent, nothing is needed.
on the throttling situation, but a lot of good data is becoming buried inside that ballooning thread.

If you are throttled, post your location, profile, BAS (if known), times of throttling and any other pertinent data including screenshots etc.

Only those being throttled should post here.

Let folks know how to get the BAS name and relevant info....

Apparently the 2-wire modems show you this information, but I'm unable to find anything in my ST516. If anyone has an easy and generic way of finding out their BAS let us know.

The main idea here is to get an idea of how many people are affected, and whereabouts it's happening.

Hopefully it'll be more simple than that. I'm in bridge mode thus unable to log into it (nor am I interested in fiddling with it either - sure other feel the same way)

I'm sure there's a better and easier way... a website maybe?

I've been fiddling with the ping and tracert command. Found my ERX, no BAS though.

I discovered one can pull the BAS info from their ST516, but it has to be in routed PPP mode, and not bridge. A quick temporary reconfig allowed me to pull out the info. I then returned the unit to bridge mode. This is what I did:

»192.168.1.254
click Broadband Connection
click Internet Services
click Details

I am on "bas15-toronto12" and NOT throttled, but just recently moved from Sympatico which was throttled.

Maybe these reports should be added to the Map at »Throttled TSI Users - Google Map - *Other resellers welcome* with all the details

Was being throttled Friday night, was fine Saturday but seems to be again this evening starting maybe around 5-6pm. My torrents on private trackers were 450KB's down, 70KB's up. Now both won't go over 30KB's. I still have Cogeco, just tried that and it was fine 1000KB's down,80KB's up. Location Peterborough > bas14-toronto63

Good idea

I just added Peterborough to the map and noticed a few others have added new hits as well. Keep it up guys!

It would be appreciated if anyone who posts results here could also update the Google map as well. If you don't have a Google account, just let us know so someone can do it.

Thanks!

Re: Is your P2P being throttled? Post your info here.

I'm in Waterloo and I think I'm throttled too, I notice that I've been getting torrent speeds around 30KB/s recently. I tried that ubuntu torrent, the speed maxed for about 30 seconds, then dropped to ~30 KBs. Other torrents with high seeds also "hardly" ever goes over 30. But yeah I think the throttling isn't in effect overnight. While I believe that TSI doesn't throttle, I'd still like to find out what's going on...

My line stats hasn't changed, and I'm still on the 3008/800 profile.

Using uTorrent.

BTW what is BAS and how do you find it on the 2wire modem?

EDIT: Thanks CanerisErik!

My BAS shows: bas2-kitchener06

BAS = Broadband Access Server. It's a glorified Bell router that aggregates connections from SLAMs in a particular area. It is mentioned because some suspect throttling is performed at the BAS level.

For the 2Wire 2700HG, to find the BAS name:
1. Go to »192.168.1.254/mdc
2. Click on Summary under Broadband Link
3. Look under the ISP Details section
