HI I bought a Actiontec router on ebay a few weeks ago to use as a backup if the router Verizon gave me broke. I have it up and running without a problem. I paid $45 for the unit and that included shipping. I updated the firmware on the initial setup and so far all is working well. I use the router at home for my network.

| There are some comments on this thread: »Which router to replace Actiontec
VZ should replace the Actiontec if less than 12 months old.
I'm assuming you have a cat-5 connection to the ONT. If you have a coax connection, you will need to get VZ to switch the connection to cat-5 to use a router other than the Actiontec. |
