anon : Hello klarnold

I bought a Linksys router WRT54Gl and had the same problem trying to connect to the modem. This is how I got it fix: I went to www.linksys.com, clicked on support and told them my situation; they sent me to a website where I downloaded a small program in my computer. Once I clicked on the program it set up the connection for me. I connected three computers to my router using the program. Make sure you have an ethernet cable.

Anyway, I hope it helps

beaver4ever : I think i'll add something to this post since I have the exact same router and i'm in bridged mode with a 5200 modem. Well, you're gonna have enter the router setup page (192.168.1.1) and as your dsl type: it's gonna be PPPOE. You're gonna need your account number and password...and voila it should work.

anon : this is going along with my other post kind of ... I have put my speedstream 5200 modem into bridge mode and according to a bell technician it cannot be taken out (which kinda makes sense because I have had no luck restarting the modem to factory settings)... originally this is what I wanted so now I need to know what do I need to do to my linksys router in order to make it work with a bridged modem ... thanks
