<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/239636"><b>tschmidt</b></A> : I think you are confusing Collision based Ethernet with Cable TV.<br><br>Cable TV as with over-the-air TV uses 6 MHz channels (in US). When the Cable system was modified to support high-speed Internet access digital modulation techniques were developed that allows each 6 MHz channel to deliver about 42 Mbps of data. Currently only one channel per node is used but the newest DOCSIS version allows multiple channels be bonded for higher speed.<br><br>Upload was a problem since except for limited SCADA telemetry data cable systems had no need to transmit data back to the head-end. In fact some early cable systems used dial-up modems to send data back to the head end. Modern systems allow customer data be sent back the the head-end. Customer data is transmitted at lower frequency then used by TV channels. <description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1406438"><b>gremloc</b></A> : Now heres the thing about our cable. I know its easier to run  both services into one line. However your paying for two different services, cable tv and cable network. Now if you go by what you pay then you and everyone else should have two seperate lines into your house and service should be setup that way. Our neighborhood is not setup that way and i was wondering if anyone else felt the same way about this. If i m paying over a hundred dollars for this service and only one line then the rate of data collision go's way up. Ergo slower capacity and lag time results, and also degraded picture on the cable channels. ]]></description>
