If that does not help re-enable third party browser extensions.
If it does help, you would have to track down the third party browser extension causing the problem | |

Start > Control Panel > Classic View > Problem Reports and Solutions > View problem history
Then, can you right-click a "DEP error" and select "View problem details".
What information is given particularly the "Fault Module Name" and "Fault Module Version"?
BTW, when did this problem start and did it coincide with any change to the system such as installing new software? | |

Springfield, IL | Auggy, I have found that leaving the 'Memory Protection' setting in IE7 & 8 unchecked, will allow add-ins that do not like that setting to behave like they should. One in particular that has problems with the Memory Protection setting is ieSpell. | |

| I just logged on to a Vista machine and ran into your thread
i got the solution to your problem
See the Attached Screen shot...make sure that check box is unchecked, Java won't work in IE with that box checked
you MUST "right-click" IE select "Run as Administrator"once IE launches, go to tools, Internet options, advanced, and scroll down and remove the check mark and then relaunch the browser
this check box will be "greyed out" unless you launch IE as an admin...once its turned off, you can go back to using IE normally | |

| Thanks. Vista HPrem SP1. Couldn't find any iespell.exe
to try individual uncheck of DEP for that file.
Prob have to Add to DEP list since mine comes up
empty.
Hadn't realized needed to turn off mem protection from that
field. Ya'd thunk offing it in the other parts of IE7
would be enough. Seems to hook in like Popup Blocker &
anti phishing that must be untick in all places.
Glad to have iespell again and still keep DEP on.
Never know what might try and hit into IE7.
btw Not reading many happy users of IE8 beta. Lot of
crashes in certain times and the Favorites seems
messy too. But al least several users are reporting same
probs so should be fixed in Final.
Said to be more along lines of Firefox. | |

| Did you install the latest version of Java?
A function called "stackhash" trying to execute code doesn't sound very good to me, especially if you disabled all third party extensions (although BEX means apparently it was an extensions that caused it to crash).
And as stated that's there to protect against browser exploits letting people run arbitrary code. You give up some security with it off, but I guess it wouldn't really matter if you just use IE to browse MSN sites. | |
