It is upgrade time...

I just ordered a W385 as a replacement for my XV6700 and a Juke for my wife to replace her RAZR v3m which will be kept as a spare.

Any thoughts or horror stories on the Juke or W385?

Please no posts on replacing the xv6700 with the 385, I know the major differences and want a cell phone instead of a POS
My wife has the Juke and at first I was skeptical about getting a Samsung but It is one cute phone for people who want a small phone. The sound quality with a headset is actually better than the RAZR v3M (brighter sound) and using the handset I'd rate it an 85/100 just because the speaker is so small. The other day she spoke to her mother for 2hours and the battery bar only dropped from 4 to 3.
It has 2 gigs of built in memory for music. Here is the only weak part: VGA camera (if that matters) as opposed to the 1.2 megapixel her RAZR had.
Overall, I think she will be happy with it unless she is someone who is obsessed with perfect sound. I had to give back my LG 8700 (beautiful phone - lousy sound) because I can't stand talking on a tinny phone.

Remember the Worry Free Guarantee - you can send it back within 30 days as long as you don't hack up the box for a rebate offer or something. Try it and see if you like it.
The 385 is a pared down version of the KRZR and has a nice tactile rubberized keyboard. Excellent sound and also a VGA camera. Good choices for both of you.
Hope that helps.
See there are non-trolls here....

I have a W385. Ok phone, but not as tough or as good of reception as my old V276. However, it's better than most LG phones everyone seems to have. A friend of mine has an W385 too and has gone through 3 of them in about 6 months. The only real problem with mine so far is the external antenna port doesn't "click" and hold the adapter. My friend's phone does.

If you drop it on cement, it will break, or at least come apart.

I love the bluetooth and speakerphone.
Practically almost any electronic device (except for perhaps those specifically designed to be shock resistant) will do that when dropped on cement.

There are quite a few people who have issues with Motorola phones and quite a few that have issues with LG phones--none are really better or worse than others overall, just what different people prefer.

XV 6700 is a PDA phone running Windows Mobile--certainly not a cheap phone by any means (in terms of its own price or the price of the plan and features necessary to use it).

Ummm... okay i'm not sure what i did for you to be "dicky"

I was simply asking if anybody had any experience or opinions with these 2 phones.

And no my XV6700 most certainly was not free... it was actually the most expensive "phone" I have ever purchased. I dont remember how much it was but it was around 400. I dont need many of the things it offers anymore and All i want is a phone... Not a phone that does tons of other shit.

I was looking for constructive comments, not a troll.

And btw they're not free phones because I refuse to have a contract longer than the phones warranty.

I hate to be the one to say this.... No wait I don't. I think I derive some kind of enjoyment out of being the guy to actually say out loud the dicky things most people just think to themselves. I must enjoy it since I do it so often. Now on with the ranting.

Is this post serious? Let me ask you what do you seriously expect from the free phones? You will get average phones with average performance.

I find it funny that you say you want a cell phone and not a POS. Great concept but apparently you are not committed to the entire idea enough to actually part with a few dollars. Wasn't that XV6700 a free phone? If that turned out to be a POS what exactly made you think the result would be better getting another free phone?

Some people might contend that doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is an indication of some degree of insanity.

You get what you pay for,

BTW
I would have suggested the Samsung flipshot.

Just curious, but have you seen the Juke in person ? It looked nice to me in pictures and online but when I saw it at a VZW store, I wouldn't want it... Has she seen one ? I tend to think it's an MP3 player/phone vs "a-phone-that-plays-mp3s-too".
