Re: Too many polygons

Ok look it up. AMD's products are all semi-conductors and related, and most of them are actually made thru partners.

The Core 2 is the first chip in many years that Intel has any lead over AMD, and that has just been in the last, year or 2, up until then AMD was the performance king for many years.
Yes, but AMD still owned a small percentage of the market even in their leading years, and much of that was on the products with lower margin. The problem is now AMD is well behind and won't have anything competitive for AT LEAST 18 months if they can hang on that long, and so Intel can force them to price cheap while keeping all the high end buyers (and the fat profits) for themselves.

Yes, AMD is in trouble. The biggest problem is they are saddled with massive debt they cannot escape from. They are losing a large amount of money every quarter. The stock price is today is $6.32, it was $16.19 in Oct '07. Current market conditions are making it very difficult for them to finance their debt.

It's say it's 50/50 AMD goes under within the next year.

AMD is in deep trouble. They've had nothing but problems and trouble with making competitive CPU's, performance wise Intel has them, and they keep missing deadlines and having to delay, delay, delay, all the while losing money hand over fist and having to keep seeking help with their debt. I want them to stay in the market, but they really are in bad shape at the moment. I don't see why they'd merge with Nvidia, tho. That would be a bad deal for Nvidia. Maybe IBM will buy AMD up (cheap)....

Why do people forget they make more than just CPUs. They makes tons of items like Intel does.
