[Help] Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Email

I understand that we used to be able to register a yahoo email address with msn messenger because I see a whole list of friends signing in with all sorts of email addresses. Now that it has changed to windows live messenger, is it not possible anymore? I seem to either need to use a @hotmail.com or a @live.com account to sign into windows live messenger?

The reason why I'm asking is because I will be changing my email address from hotmail.com to yahoo.com but would still like to use windows live messenger and sign in with my yahoo email address. Is there anyway to do that? I do not really want to use yahoo messenger...

Yes, register your Yahoo e-mail address with with MSN Passport. That will allow you to use your Yahoo address with MSN.
