OptimumOnline Line MonitorsJustin has given us the ability to group line monitors together for the purposes of looking at single ISP. Members of a group get free, as in no TP deduction, line monitoring services for now. This is where you need to go to get setup & sign on: » /sched ··· signup/0Make sure when you're done to click "Create Monitor". You need to be "pingable" . This is important! » Tweaking FAQThere is no need for third party software - if your IP changes, you can always edit your monitor to reflect the new IP. You just need to do 2 things: 1) enter IP in the static IP box AND 2) check the "dynamic" box. You must do both. Make sure you also go to » /prefs/flair and select "SECTION My home connection" and enter the info there. It will appear by your graph so that others will know what service, etc you have. When you have your monitor all set up and working, send me an IM asking for an invite to the group you want to join. Make sure you are logged into the site to get the invite. Click on the invite, then click on the link in the invite and accept. Your graph will appear here: » /testh ··· ?view=67I also put a link for our Line Monitor Group in the forum's side bar links. Also, feel free to review this FAQ. » Line Monitoring FAQ |

thanks for the heads up, does this work if you have already used line monitoring in the past on your ip and it is currently suspended? |

Anyone know what happened last week, our local pings all went from around 40 to around 60? It's been so many days in a row it looks like something permanent was changed. |

Lex, it looks like something happened to my monitor, possibly when I had that account problem some weeks back.
[Edit]All is well. I reconfigured the meter and the indicator is back in the forum graphs.
Thanks in advance, Dave |

Re: OptimumOnline Line MonitorsWhere did the group monitor page go? I went to the sidebar and all that gives me is my own stuff. We're having some serious connectivity problems tonight and I wanted to see how the others were making out. |

Re: OptimumOnline Line Monitorsthe point of this thread, if you haven't already figured out, is to collect multiple OOL user's line monitor graphs into one page so see if there's network-wide outage of user-specific. your site does not accomplish that, so let's keep the discussion on topic. if you want 7 days of monitoring, use » /smokeping |

Anyone else noticed some ping slippage over the past 3 weeks? Not much mind you, but a little here and a little there adds up to a noticeable amount over time. |

I don't know about ping slippage but looks like I had some random packet loss! |

Re: OptimumOnline Line MonitorsWith the Optimum Managed Router there is no option to set the public IP pingable (to allow ICMP requests). Can these OptimumOnline Line Monitors still work, or will a future Managed Optimum Router update resolve this issue and/or give an option to allow ICMP requests? |

Just came back to Optimum after 3.5 years when FIOS got too expensive. I put in my IP address and it says it's already being monitored What to do? Wait a bit? |
