No need to go that high on the RWIN for a 6mb line .....
Download DrTcp
Set Tcp Receive Window to 64240
Set Windows Scaling, Time Stamping, Selective Acks, Path MTU Discovery, Black Hole Detection to Default.
Leave Max Duplicate Acks and TTL Blank
Save/Exit DrTcp
Reboot
Rerun the Tweak Test
Run Two Speed Tests from the two DIFFERENT cities nearest to you that are listed here: Speakeasy POPs
Also, test here »ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/test512
Note your transfer rate after about 30 seconds. Then cancel the download.
Post the URL for the New Tweak Test. For the TWO Speakeasy Tests, Copy and Paste the speed results from those tests and note the speed from the FTP download test. -- "You can observe a lot by watching". Yogi Berra |

64240 would be too low.
Some users go with 125,000~150,000. the higher # certainly works well for me.
My results using 200,020. Certainly nothing to sneeze at. Last Result: Download Speed: 27006 kbps (3375.8 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 2104 kbps (263 KB/sec transfer rate) -- The Coyote captured the RR! Roadrunner Rick is now Comcastic! |

The issue might be that modem you're using. You don't even have powerboost kicking in either. You might want to post in the comcast forum and ask others there if they have any experience with that particular modem. Some modems seem to prevent people from realizing the higher speeds. While your rwin is still too low for what most of us get on Comcast with powerboost..until you get this resolved..the 64,000 # is appropriate for these lower speeds you're seeing.
IMHO..that modem would be your number one suspect that could be causing this.
(your router is ok..many people use that model with no problems) I'm using the motorola sb5120 and as you can see..getting great results with that. -- The Coyote captured the RR! Roadrunner Rick is now Comcastic! |

| reply to sonny30 Sorry, I did not pick this up at on the first pass. The MODEM is a DOCSIS 1.0 10baseT and is no longer manufactured.
First, the MODEM has to go. I would suggest a MOTO 51xx. -- "You can observe a lot by watching". Yogi Berra |

| reply to Rick I have PowerBoost on Cox and 64240 gives me over 23mb down on a 10mb line.
On OOL uncapped/5 some folks use 64240 and pull close to 30mb down.
As far as Sonny is concerned, he is not going to see anything close to 30mb on his 6mb plan. I would guess 12mb or so.
