Re: BOClean - outgoing connections

I update BOClean manually, in my firewall it shows (BOC4UPD.EXE) as the updater executable. Not sure if the automatic updater uses a different .exe for the update process.

If it is not the automatic updater that is making (boc425.exe) connect out then maybe since you just installed the program it is phoning home just to let Comodo know that you have installed it on your PC. You may want to post your question over at Comodo's forum to be sure.

It doesn't matter if you manually update or autoupdate the (BOC4UPD.EXE) is how BoClean updates.

MarkAW, thanks for the information. I was not sure as I have never used CBOClean's automatic update. The reason that I mentioned that the automatic updater might use a different .exe is because, avast! Home uses (avast.setup) to update. When in auto. mode it would have a different parent path .exe than when updating manually. Made me think that maybe BOClean was using a similar way.

I allow CBOClean to auto-update, and BOC425.EXE is used. When I manually update, BOC4UPD.EXE is used and has to ask to access the internet, so it seems to me two different .exes are being used.

Sincerely, Libra
