| Trying to find a tv Calibration dvd for best picture? I am trying to find a dvd to get the best picture on my tv.
Some people are telling me to get avia dvd. Or avia 2 dvd.

Avia is the best for consumers. The other option would be Video Essentials. The THX one is pointless. |

| THX test i heard about that but none of my movies have the test on there i have looked. Is there a list somewhere that tells you what movies have the test?
I will probally buy the avia or video essentials one. |

Utica, MI | I don't remember which ones have it. I think Toy Story is the first one I ever saw and remember to have it. I never bothered doing the test since I already had the Avia disc. |

I've got both the Avia, and both of the Video Essentials discs. The Video Essentials not only will allow you to do a pretty good job adjusting the TV, it also has a very good section on the how-and-why it's done a certain way.
And I've got a SpyderPRO to do a full calibration, which ususally requires you to go into the service menus....something NOT for the faint-of-heart, as you can really screw up the TV if you're not careful!

I think for your purposes, this one would be better:

I use mine to not only calibrate monitors for home theater use, but also to calibrate monitors for photographers.

I love my Spyder, well worth the money. You wouldn't believe how far off retail monitor settings are.

Does it come with everything to do both? I'm familiar with it for monitor calibration but not TV.
