I think for your purposes, this one would be better:»spyder.datacolor.com/product-ht-stv.php

I use mine to not only calibrate monitors for home theater use, but also to calibrate monitors for photographers.
Does it come with everything to do both? I'm familiar with it for monitor calibration but not TV.

Click the "view entire list" to see them all.

I love my Spyder, well worth the money. You wouldn't believe how far off retail monitor settings are.

Are you sure you can justify the cost? This is the one that replaced my unit, but the price was about the same:

I've got both the Avia, and both of the Video Essentials discs. The Video Essentials not only will allow you to do a pretty good job adjusting the TV, it also has a very good section on the how-and-why it's done a certain way.
And I've got a SpyderPRO to do a full calibration, which ususally requires you to go into the service menus....something NOT for the faint-of-heart, as you can really screw up the TV if you're not careful!

I don't remember which ones have it. I think Toy Story is the first one I ever saw and remember to have it. I never bothered doing the test since I already had the Avia disc.

THX test i heard about that but none of my movies have the test on there i have looked. Is there a list somewhere that tells you what movies have the test?

I will probally buy the avia or video essentials one.

Avia is the best for consumers. The other option would be Video Essentials. The THX one is pointless.

I find the THX test sufficient enough.
Programs on most certified THX discs.

I am trying to find a dvd to get the best picture on my tv.

Some people are telling me to get avia dvd. Or avia 2 dvd.

My question is is it any good? I want the best one if it works.

I have a good picture but i want a better one.
