Jeremy,
You probably already have the answer to this and I know how unhelpful Embarq can be as I just dealt with them. To use the adsl card instead of the modem supplied by Embarq, you have to set up integrated routing and bridging:
! bridge irb ! interface atm 0/1/0 no ip address no atm ilmi-keepalive dsl operating-mode auto bridge-group 1 pvc 8/35 encapsulation aal5snap ! interface BVI1 ip address (your static IP and mask) ! ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 (your gateway) ! bridge 1 protocol ieee bridge 1 route ip
It took me forever to beat out of the technician that they were using 1483 in bridging mode. Most of them just stated they were using ENET encapsulation (i went so far as to ask one of them what that meant in the real world) which is obviously their term for aal5snap.
Once they told me the mode of bridging, the config was pretty straight forward and then just applied my access firewall lists to the BVI interface. |
