Bon Jovi, I like them/him... I really like his version of Hallelujah.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!! Turn up the volume and enjoy... I'm driving Bill nuts with my wonderful renditions all the noise...

| reply to nozero * Above is a WMA file with the VH1 full version of Bon Jovi doing this song. If you like the violinist put it in full screen mode. Every version has slightly different lyrics FWIW I pasted in the lyrics to his version.
Jeff Buckley, Hallelujah, Lyrics
(Jon Bon Jovi's version)
Well I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the lord but you don't really care for music, do ya well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth the minor fall and the major lift the baffled king composing hallelujah
hallelujah 4 times (last on holds on)
well your faith was strong but you needed proof you saw her bathing on the roof her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya and she tied you to the kitchen chair she broke your throne and she cut your hair and from the lips she drew the hallelujah
hallelujah 4 times (last one holds on)
yeah, baby Ive been here before I seen this room and Ive walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew ya and I seen your flag on that marble arch your love is not a victory march it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
hallelujah 4 times (last one holds on)
well there was a time when you let me know what was (really) goin on below now you don't never show that to me do ya but remember when I moved in you and the holy dove, was moving too and every breath we drew was hallelujah
hallelujah 4 times (last one holds on AND IS LOUD)
well now, maybe there's a god above but all Ive ever learned from love was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya and it's not your cry that I hear at night no,, it's not someone who's seen the light it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
hallelujah 13 times (from 4th on, holds....and gets really loud) -- Life is not a dress rehearsal - Come join Team Helix. |

| reply to SueN Neat topic, Sue!
I like Bon Jovi's version, also. I also like Jeff Buckley's, who died shortly after he released his cover of "Hallelujah". For trivia nuts who remember Vietnam era stuff, his dad was Tim Buckley... also died very young.
I would throw Cohen's in, as it is his... I remember when Leonard Cohen first released it and Suzanne. He has passed it on, for want of a better way of putting it, to Rufus Wainwright, who is a friend of his daughter, a fellow Canadian, and is Loudon Wainwright's son.

I was watching VH1 when Bon Jovi did this. After that I went poking around and found out the song's history.
I like Jeff Buckley's, don't like Cohen's version, I like Bon Jovi's best.. JMHO [EDIT] I mean no disrespect to Cohen I just prefer the sound of the other versions.... -- Life is not a dress rehearsal - Come join Team Helix. |

| reply to SueN I can get youtube. I am registered there. But for some reason I can not see certain videos like that one of Jeff Buckley. It is pretty annoying to say the least. But as I stated, I can hide my IP address and force a US one so I can watch that video. |

| reply to SueN I'm pretty impressed with him. Did you know that next month he and his wife will have been married 19 years? 1 edit | reply to Sheesh Here's Jeff Buckley singing Hallelujah on another video site, Daily Motion. It'a a different clip, same song. It has a dropdown menu at the top to select a Country flag. I assume if your flag is selectable, if this one below isn't playable search Jeff Buckley while under the Canadian flag???
