| Speedstream 4200 & 5200 modem problems?
I'm trying to get connected with Acanac, but I'm having no luck with either a 4200 or 5200 formerly from bell.
The DSL connection is up and when I do the test@test/test nick /pass combo the connection is up, but when I try my own nick/pass I just get a "local connection failed to negotiate PPPoE options" error message.
Any ideas on what could be going wrong? |

| reply to poorstudent poorstudent, have you tried contacting their tech support about this issue? It might just be a prob with your account info, in which case, the fix would be pretty easy, and this is one of the things that Acanac does not need to contact Bell for |

| I have been in contact with them for at least a week or so, as I don't have a phone right now though it has just been through emails. Unfortunately they have been no help. Their solution it seemed was to just send me my login info again. Now they want me to call and put my modem through some tests.
What for? I say. It's obviously not the modem. I don't know how hard it is to reset my login, or give me a new one or something, but whatever it is it seems they don't think it is necessary. |

| Well, as with any other tech support, you just have to keep insisting sometimes. You might also decide to contact Acanac Inc. (Paul) here on the forums and let him know of your situation.
Keep us posted |

| Gave them a call the other night, and as I thought, simply a matter of registering my username or something simple as that, as they forgot to add me. Took about a minute. Still I don't know why the guy I exchanged emails with didn't bother to check it. |

| Glad to hear you're in business, and you have to understand, you're not always going to get the best experience when contacting tech support, but the important thing is to recognize that that will happen regardless of what company you're with. If you're patient about the situation, and keep trying, your problem will be solved.
It's the sad truth of today's market. Any ISP that claims they have perfect customer service is lying (although some do have better than others), and Acanac is at least trying to get better using the feedback they're given about their employees |
