| XP Firewall
I disabled the firewall, but it says it's enabled and that comodo is working. I don't even have comodo installed.
I already reset the XP firewall, any other suggestions?
Thanks,

Do you have any Comodo products installed? |

I fixed the problem, however. I disabled the firewall through the services screen. Rebooted. And then ran the firewall which told me it that it was disabled and if I wanted to enable it. I said yes and viola.
P.S. No anti-virus while I am troubleshooting a network problem, hence how I discovered the firewall problem. |

You can't access that screen unless you disable anti-virus and get the warning. When I go into the firewall screen in control panel, it makes no mention of comodo. |

| reply to Rob You could try rebuilding the Repository folder which will rebuild the Security Center information:
Start > Run > cmd.exe > OK
then type the following pressing "Enter" after each line:
net stop winmgmt
cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem
ren repository repository.old
net start winmgmt
Exit cmd.exe and you may have to restart the computer. |

| reply to Rob Here's the scoop.
When XP Firewall is enabled, I get the message that there are more than 1 firewalls installed.
When I disable the firewall, I get the comodo message.
I love Microsoft. |

@rr.com | reply to La Luna I agree. It's Comodo's fault. It is software developer's responsibility to make sure their uninstaller software cleans every aspect of the installation. |

| In this case it appears that Windows Security Center was not reporting properly due to a corruption in the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) database.
It happens sometimes such as the following:
»support.microsoft.com/kb/944175/en-us
In XP (and should also work in Vista) renaming the Repository folder allows the Repository folder to rebuild with a corrected database. |
