That statement right there is when I stopped reading his blog. If that was true, you could never download 11 files and play streaming music at the same time.
Assuming a 6mbps broadband connection: 6,000,000bps / 12 = 500,000bps. 500kbps is still quite adequate for streaming music.

The math works out just fine.
