Scot's Blog - Selects a Preferred FW

Scot's Newsletter Blog describes why he has selected Online Armor as his preferred firewall. The entire article is at:

And there you go.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that the newsletter actually describes my experiences with Comodo 3 and Online Armor 2.1. I found the discussion appropriate for average users like myself and my friends. This kind of discussion makes much more sense to me than looking a poll of FWs as I have searched for security software.

Have to agree with Scot's findings on OA.
Best one I've used.

Personally, I think $40 makes a big difference - CFP is free which gets it looked at by me.

For average users, I do think a bunch are put off regarding paying for a separate firewall when one comes with XP and Vista, or is bundled with their AV (like Norton, etc). I don't think many will ever even hear of Online Armor OR CFP, but they are going to be likely to already have AV if they manage to find that blog.

Like Comodo before it made its FW Pro version free, Online Armor too has a Free Version.

A Comparison of the features of the Free version with that of the Paid

No biggie. Be out in a couple months or sooner.
Gonna use the free on my laptop, just in time to replace AVG w/ firewall before they make us go to v. 8
